I remember my first tutor in junior high. He helped me gain an understanding beyond just the numbers and the formulas. From his example, I started tutoring friends as a sophomore in high school. I enjoy helping others see beyond the numbers, in understanding the basics, and seeing how everything fits together. I enjoy guiding the way and helping to enlighten children that have that innate curiosity. How many can envision the one (or two) individuals that helped them to see and imagine? Since graduating from Eastern Oregon University, a college known for its education programs, I have dedicated most of my adult life to teaching. I have a BS degree in secondary education with endorsements in advanced mathematics and health education. I have taught students in various settings throughout my career and have become able to adapt to different learning environments. I have taught students in grades 7 through 12 as well as adult learners preparing to earn a GED certificate. Most of my teaching through the years has been in mathematics, but I have also taught a number of other subject through the years.
