A Little Bit About Me...

I remember my first tutor in junior high. He helped me gain an understanding beyond just the numbers and the formulas. From his example, I started tutoring friends as a sophomore in high school. I enjoy helping others see beyond the numbers, in understanding the basics, and seeing how everything fits together. I have a large passion for sciences, and teaching others. A Little Bit About Me...

Children are amazing! I have been around children of all ages for most of my life due to a large family. Every child has an opportunity to be the next Albert Einstein however I feel that it is the lack of understanding on the teachers behalf on how to teach to the different needs of the children that keeps the children from learning all that they could. Every person learns differently and I feel that I have the ability to help the children learn at their own pace and relate the material to them so they can better understand. As the school I taught at was private, the students were very competitive. I found my lectures and class activities reached 90% of the students. The remaining 10% were the students I especially loved to instruct. These students had difficulty learning the subject in a traditional fashion, so I was forced to explain the subject from a different angle. The individual attention I gave students before and after class proved to be invaluable.
As Cal Poly SLO has one of the most competitive engineering programs on the west coast, I have a depth of knowledge in both math and sciences.
