I have obtained a BS in Management-Health Care/HR and 5 Associate degrees in Business Administration, Administrative Office Technology, Medical Office Technology, Legal Secretary, and College Transfer. I have been homeschooling my son since 2006 and mentoring students through a local church for just as long. In addition, I tutored in 1990-1991 and 1994-1997 while in college to earn extra money. I believe that a solid education is something every child should have. All children learn in their own way. It is the responsibility of the teacher and parents to determine the way of learning that is most beneficial to the child. It is also the job of the teacher and parents to set their child up for success by helping them gain the knowledge they need. Children should feel they are in a safe environment as they learn. I am dedicated to helping students reach their potential and to teaching them the joy of learning.
Helping others learn has always been a joy of mine. I have a BS degree in Elementary Education. I also hold a current Professional Teaching License. I am certified to teach kindergarten through eighth grade and highly qualified for kindergarten through sixth grade. I also have the experience of being a classroom teacher for three years.

A Little Bit About Me...

I earned a degree in Biology, which has fully equipped me for tutoring to children who have difficulties in any subject, but especially science. By being a Biology major I was exposed to all types of seminars, scientific research, labs and other various types of learning implements that have been beneficial in my teaching practices. In the past two years I have privately tutored two children from the ages of 5 and 7. I have tutored them in every subject from reading, and math to science projects. I have also worked at a preschool Kehillah Jewish Preschool with 4 and 5 year olds preparing them for kindergarten, which included phonics, reading, writing, number and letter recognition, pre-math skills such as measuring and sorting.

I began 'teaching' as the head wakeboarding instructor at Coble Ski School in Lillington, NC, when I was a junior in high school. Shortly thereafter I took a position working at a beach resort in Pensacola, FL, where I spent an entire summer instructing surfing, kayaking and sailing. At Duke I tutored during each of my four years, either biweekly at a local Durham elementary school or at the Emily K Family Life Center. It is there where I tutored once weekly as a senior, up until I graduated in May. I have tutored in all subjects and all ages up through 22.
