I worked with the Let's Get Ready organization in Framingham, MA, which offers weekly SAT sessions for students in underprivileged neighborhoods. I am a big proponent of the theory of multiple intelligences and believe that each student has certain styles of learning that work best for them. I aim to help students figure out how they learn best. Having scored a 1370 on the SAT after three attempts, I can safely say that I wish I knew then what I know now about taking the SAT. My main strategy is basically to lay out the concepts that will be covered that day, go over several practice problems, and give three or four practice problems for the students to work on independently.
