I graduated from high school with honors from a school that never pushed the effectiveness of attending college to students. I maintained my focus and attended Virginia State University in the fall of 2006. My mother was my inspiration, so much that I ventured towards science as my field of study. I chose to be a chemist, allowing myself to go above and beyond the norm. I succeeded as I came upon the completion of my undergraduate studies and obtaining a BS in Chemistry. I’m interested in teaching children earth science and molecular biology. During college I studied art also, this allowed me to be strong in diagrams and understanding photosynthesis and other processes in science with great detail. I learned by color and charts and relied on a dry erase board to learn the human body in Anatomy. I could take a mental picture and learn the names clearly. My only documented tutoring was with the local elementary school in a program called “Reading Buddies”. I had a syllabus for the children and was rewarded with clear results on both children. It was an after school activity during High School and only lasted for one school year.
