My teaching style is so passionate, I love opening doors to where students actually grasps the idea of learning and the effectiveness of it. As a young adult I often times relate my learning experience to theirs, in order for the students to see hard work actually pays off. I enjoy the success of watching students receive good grades, and the excitement of feeling accomplished. I personally believe it’s about the teacher just as much as it’s about the student, if a student realizes a teacher cares there’s no limit to what that student can accomplish. I graduated from high school with honors from a school that never pushed the effectiveness of attending college to students. I maintained my focus and attended Virginia State University in the fall of 2006. My mother was my inspiration, so much that I ventured towards science as my field of study. I chose to be a chemist, allowing myself to

I’m interested in teaching children earth science and molecular biology. During college I studied art also, this allowed me to be strong in diagrams and understanding photosynthesis and other processes in science with great detail. I learned by color and charts and relied on a dry erase board to learn the human body in Anatomy. I could take a mental picture and learn the names clearly. My only documented tutoring was with the local elementary school in a program called “Reading Buddies”. I had a syllabus for the children and was rewarded with clear results on both children. It was an after school activity during High School and only lasted for one school year. I remember the feeling of having a result and the satisfaction that only a few minutes spent lasted till the end of the program.

I have earned a Bachelors Degree in Anthropology. I also have a strong background with computers. While attending ASU, I enjoyed every aspect of learning. Throughout college I worked with children in a daycare and as a preschool teacher. Elementary school subjects are my best tutor subjects, such as math, science and spanish. I have worked with children whom have disabilities for the past three years and view that as my strong point. For these children to learn everything from speaking, counting, reading and continuing into age appropriate subjects is an amazing deed that I am blessed to be a part of and in a child’s life. I love working with children. I believe each child has a different way of learning. I believe children can reach their full learning potential when working with the right teaching strategies. I believe in providing a constructivist learning theory. I believe in a hands

My teaching style varies depending on the needs of each student. Because students learn in different ways, I feel it is important to start with a basic teaching method and evolve from there for each individual child and his or her level of learning. I feel that motivation goes a long way and that students should feel rewarded for any level of progress they accomplish. My experience includes two years of full time teaching at the PreK level. I also have experience working with grade level students through practicums, student teaching, and substitute teaching. I have assisted teachers with middle school students during a summer technical program as well. I currently hold a M.S. in Education specializing at the Elementary grade levels. I also have a B.F.A. in Photography with a minor in Journalism.

I have had years of experience even before college with Fine Arts. I had a tutor/ lessons myself in art from age 9-15. I have earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts at Virginia Tech in 5 years after transfer twice before. I was very successful at Virginia Tech my professors were always impressed with my drive to succeed. I have recently completed my Senior Art Show and had amazing feed back from all professors and professionals that attended. I also intend on applying to graduate school in the next year for my MFA. I love working with children that have passion for art and are as determined as myself to do the best they can even if they are not the most talented or it does not come as naturally. I have struggled with dyslexia all my life and understand when a child/student needs a little extra help in a area or just wants to learn more, in other words I can sympathize, because I have been there

I firmly believe ALL children can learn, but not everyone learns in the same way. I do my best to make a positive difference in their lives. I'm very patient and always listen to my students. I give my students tips to help them learn something and get them to repeat information back to me as we work so I know they understand. I give immediate feedback while working with my students and, when working one-on-one or in small groups, I will sit down and work side-by-side with them. I work with students I'm tutoring in as comfortable and familiar a place as possible, yet with as few distractions as possible, to promote learning. I have spent most of my adult life helping children learn. I have worked in childcare facilities, as well as in public and private schools and as a private tutor. I have taught or worked with preschoolers through 5th graders. I've worked with special needs children,

I love working with children of all ages. I can say I am patient enough to deal with elementary students being that I've done so before. I love to have fun with learning and can bring the fun of learning to the classroom. I want the students to want to learn and that is what I am going to bring to the table. Children's church is where a year of my experience comes from. I would guide a group of children during the service and would spend individual time with those who wanted to brush up on their reading and writing. I enjoyed every minute of this experience and can say I made an impact in those children's lives.

I am a creative teacher, meaning that I assess the individual and do not have an agenda that I adhere to. Normally, I am able to advance a child a grade level in reading with three months of tutoring and reinforcing homework, during the summer. However, I will go the extra mile to help a student be able to totally understand what I am trying to help them learn. I have numerous children's educational CD-ROMs for the children who learn better with that visual help. I love to watch children learn and love to be the one who makes them able to succeed. I have a number of visual and written tools and will find out what works with the student and find a way to make that available. I have been a volunteer for various literacy programs for the past several years, focusing primarily on phonics rather than sight reading. I have worked in two group homes for dually diagnosed adults, meaning both

Teaching to me is a vocation and not just a job. I enjoy helping children achieve their peek potential in the subject matter at hand. As children learn in different ways and at different paces, many have difficulty adapting to the standardized teaching of institutional education. I believe that children learn best from a personal approach that meets their needs and draws on their strengths. I begin the teaching process by building rapport, encouraging ideas, and instilling confidence. I then determine a starting point by measuring the child’s aptitude. Following initial sessions, I develop an individualized plan that ensures appropriate and effective teaching methods. My style is flexible, patient, and engaging. The child is not a passive listener but an active part of the process, and he or she will feel more confident and independent with each session. As a counselor, mentor, and student, I have gained valuable insights into teaching and motivating others. I have earned a BA in Human Development, and I am currently p
