A Little Bit About Me...

I obtained the Ph.D. degree in Physics from the University of Virginia in 2010. My research field is experimental Nuclear Physics which requires strong computer programming skills in Advanced Mathematics as well as conference presentation skills. As a teaching assistant at the University of Virginia, I have had excellent opportunities to teach a variety of Physics and Mathematics courses for different majors during my graduate studies. With a passion for teaching I worked as private Math and Physics tutor for undergraduate students as well as secondary school students in Charlottesville. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of Sociology I have gained a lot of knowledge about how society functions. I was interested in this area of study to understand peoples because I have always had compassion for others. I have participated in a 4 unit class where i taught Spanish to 8-11 year old children and it consisted of developing a plan that included songs and dancing to learn Spanish in a fun and animated way. I also realized that what might work for one student, won’t always work with another, so being able to adapt to each child is something I love to do. I want every child to be able to go to school confident every day, no matter what is thrown at them, because they understand what they are doing.
