Hi my name is Krystal and I would love to introduce you to the world of Sign Language! I studied 3 years of ASL in highschool. The last year I took involved tutoring deaf children in elementary school. After high school I worked in a group home where one of the residents. was both deaf and blind. I worked one on one with this resident for 5 1/2 years. During this time I have also nannied and taught the kids I cared for , along with their parents, ASL. I've been fascinated with computer programming since I was 8 and found a book about Fortran in my grandma's encyclopedia set. Our school had a handful of computers but no programmers. There was a single book in the library that I had checked out constantly until the librarian finally just let me have it when I graduated 8th grade. I went to college and began to learn more and finally met the mentors that were so important to my journey. I have a degree in Computer Science and I've been employed as a programmer since 2002, including time in the US Air Force doing 3D flight sims and the medical technology field. I learned CAD as a student studying Interior Design in the late 90's ,and have used this program for a little more than a decade in my career, in order to document the built environment and propose design solutions.While running my own Interior Design studio four years ago, I was also teaching part time at two of the colleges in Sacramento where they had Interior Design programs. CAD classes included learning the basic commands for drawing and editing,dimensioning, setting up a template and layers and plotting finished work.
