A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate at UCLA, I volunteered for tutoring inner city fifth and sixth graders. I found it natural to sense their insecurity, frustration, or lack of self-esteem. I then chose an appropriate starting point in a particular subject, expressed enthusiasm as they demonstrated mastery, and proceeded at a challenging but not intimidating pace. After earning degrees in journalism and later microbiology, I entered the technical writing field. In this endeavor I combined my writing and scientific skills to produce clear and organized text. My subject matter areas in technical writing include biotechnology and engineering.

I have two degrees, in Library and Information Technology.I have experience tutoring children ages k-10, for both Marion County Schools and Department of Juvenile Justice. I also worked as a Instructional Paraprofessional in 1993-94, An ESE instructional Paraprofessional in 2010 and a GED reading Instructor. I am currently working as a Title 1 instructional Paraprofessional for the Marion County School Board. A Little Bit About Me...

I feel very strongly about a differential approach to my teaching methods. I believe every child is different and learns differently then the next child. I feel confident in developing a lesson plan that can be diverse enough to meet each and every child’s gifts and disadvantages.
