I have earned two bachelors degrees, BS in Accounting and BA in Early Childhood Education with an endorsement in Reading. I have also earned a Masters in Business Adminstration. I have learned extensived skills on how to reach a struggling student and how to in still confidence back into the learning process. During the last six years, I have substituted for all ages PS-12 and tutored numerous students from elementary to high school in mathematics, reading, science and English.
I assist the Reading Center Directors in assessing area public school K-12 students at-risk in reading and writing. The information is used to identify areas of literacy strength, as well as areas of need. I have a passion for education and helping others. I also love math and problem solving. I have earned my BS in Business with a major in MIS, and have completed many extra math classes. I tutored all through college when I went (at the high school and college level). I have enjoyed teaching my daughter and others her age (elementary level), and have learned a lot about learning styles. Education is extremely important to me, and I would really like to help others in this area.
The most important thing to me in teaching anyone anything is finding out what level they are currently at. In order to learn something, take something in and understand it, one must have something already to attach it to in their minds.
