A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working with children for 6 years now. I know the importance of what one on one learning experience is to a childs success. Elementary Math is one of my top subjects!

I have volunteered tutoring classmates since middle school. My best subject areas are math and science. I am very passionate about science as I hope to have a career in astronomy (the study of space) in the future. I also enjoy math. It is like a puzzle that I enjoy solving. More About This Tutor...

I have four children of my own and home schooled each one through elementary school and some middle school. They returned to public school for middle school where I then provided tutoring for other classmates. I know sometimes math as well and other subjects come harder for one than the other so I realize the tutoring session needs to be geared toward that particular child.
I love to teach by using the hands on technique. I will do whatever I can to see that the student grasp what is being taught. It is so neat to watch how sometimes you will see the light flick on and you know they "have it". I also will provide hand outs and use the computer to give them extra practice.

Changing The World, One Child AT A Time

I was an assistant teacher to a 3rd grade class at Wilson's Mills Elementary from 2001 until 2003. My duties included assisted the teacher and helping the students in a manner to help them learn at their pace. And I also have an 8 year old son who attends River Dell Elementary. I love when I can help others!

I am going to school to become a teacher in the grades of kindergarten through 5th, I have been a nanny for several people and have enjoyed it completely! During my nanny duties, I would of course have a home-schooling section and would also help around the house when needed, so I think that I am a very good candidate for teaching basics and other subjects to help kids better themselves and their studies!
