I have done a lot of consultation with foreign governments interested in working in the sub-Saharan Africa. I am intersted in globalization and environmental policies in the developing countries. My teaching style could be described as modified Montessorian, in an attempt to appeal to all the senses, and to affect the learning channels of each student as a unique individual. Encouragement is lavished on even the adult students, and not all errors are equally vital to correct on an immediate basis. One observing any one of my classes could feel definitely "drawn in" if so desired.

A Little Bit About Me...

Each time I have taught a different age-level I have sought to accommodate myself to the learning style of that particular level, whether psychokinetic for kindergarten and preschool, audio-visual for lower elementary, or verbal-phonemic for upper-level students and adults. It was in the teaching of adults that I encountered my most challenging situations, and even today the pedagogy is not nearly as simple as would appear at face-value. Reference to Ken Pike's tomes on the fundamentals of tagmemics, James Stanfield's affective pointers for students of various emotional statuses, and even the philosophy of Noam Chomsky on English deep structure, were all consulted early and often and at one time or another throughout my career.
