My comments on tutoring Piano : With a BA degree in Music education I recently worked for 3 years at a local Piano Academy prior to my move to Nashville, TN. While teaching at the academy I was able to teach piano students of all ages, and really learn to tailor a lesson to the student. I also have 2 years of experience providing private piano instruction using various piano curricular apart from an academy.

I have no preference, I thoroughly enjoy the one on one experience and watching my individual students grow right before my eyes. However, I also enjoy working with groups of students at a time, no more than 3-4 students in a small group. I thrive in the master class setting of instruction as well, so I am completely open to all types of instruction, as long as my listener is growing.
My passion for music education was birthed through a childhood of great music exposure and music teachers. As a college graduate in Music Education, I sought to follow this passion for music and shared it with the hundreds of young lives I would teach. I have been a professional musician since 1978, teaching other musicians theory, performance etc. What can I say? I grew up in a music store! I've taught guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums and piano technology. Most of my students are now professional musicians. I don't use any techniques out of any book, each person is different and their needs are also.
My father had a piano rebuilding shop and I worked for him begining at age 12, in every aspect of piano rebuilding, regulating and tuning. Do I need to say more? Over 40 years of working on pianos is more than most piano tuners have. I don't use tuning machines, God already gave me 2 on each side of my head that work much better. I could write a long paragraph of blah blah trying to impress you but over 40 years of pianos says it all.

After my first trip to France in the summer of 2007, my skills in the language took off, as did my passion for learning.
