French teacher, Piano teacher

I have been teaching piano in France for 4 years, and now 1 year in the U.S. I have never taught French but now my level in English is getting better, I would be able to teach French without problems. I was born in France and have diplomas in management and business. I live in Richmond for 1 year and 6 months.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have studied Spanish for 15 years and have lived in Costa Rica and Miami where I was required to speak Spanish daily for school and for work. I have had tutored Spanish professionally for seven years and have many long-term clients, both young and old. I have also tutored college level accounting, economics and finance, as well as math and english for grade school through high school. My youngest client thus far is four and my oldest is 72. I have experience tutoring at all ages and skill levels.
I enjoying tutoring all subjects, but Spanish is certainly my passion. I develop new lessons for each meeting based on the needs of the client. I had an amazing biology teacher in high school who was upbeat, interactive and made learning, memorable and fun. I try to take this same approach myself to figure out what is important to students and play on their interests and strengths to help them learn. I typically try a couple of different styles, like flash card memorization, word association (sometimes seemingly unrelated but the funnier and more obscure they are, tend to stick in the memory better), picture association, etc. Having effective discussions about subject matters, particularly with difficult topics, can help the student gain a more in depth understanding.
