My teaching style revolves around making my learners, whether young or old, feel good about themselves and the process of learning. I understand that each learner is unique and that one size does not fit all. I am especially interested in building, as much as possible, a positive rapport between the learner and myself. I understand clearly that a learner can become very frustrated when trying to absorb and comprehend information that may be foreign to him or her. I am easy going and have a good amount of patience. A Little Bit About Me...

I have wanted to teach since I was in second grade, and am currently working toward my license in Massachusetts. I believe that knowledge is an intimate thing, and that learning should be fun, and confidence-building. I use eliciting techniques, bringing student knowledge to the table first, and then build upon it. Knowing a student is important for preparing relevant materials for class. I believe technology is an important tool that can enhance the learning process when implemented appropriately. During my years attending UMass Dartmouth, I recieved my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration. But I also gained alot of experience working with children. I tutored elementary age students in the star program and college students at my campus job in the Unity House. I also was the coordinator for the New Bedford Speech Academy.
