As a tutor with Webster University's student literacy corps, I worked with individuals, pre-K-adult, on reading, literacy, and writing skills. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth. I found both programs extremely enjoyable and found that all of my students were eager to learn and improve their skill set. It has been my experience that each student has his/her individuals needs and that each learns differently. Thus, I make a conscious effort to sit down privately with each of my students so that we can address his/her concerns effectively and put together a constructive plan to improve his/her skill set.

I work diligently to ensure that I am very versatile when tutoring as I believe students learn differently. Majoring in communications in college exposed me to a variety of literature. I took classes in English, script writing, and literature. I also learned about vocal production and public speaking. As I earned a Master of Arts in the dramatic performance field, I taught freshman students a basic speech course for two years. After graduation, I continued onto college faculty and taught for two more years teaching public speaking, voice and communication, and drama courses.
