I believe that questions are more powerful teaching tools than simply delivering answers. I do not wish to teach my students WHAT to think; my goal is to help students learn HOW to think, and to develop a pssion for learning which extends well beyond their formal schooling.
Most of my career has involved some level of teachng or training. A Little Bit About Me...

As a fourth year special education teacher, I have an extensive repertoire of strategies to help students learn. Having worked with both disabled and nondisabled children, primarily in small group and 1:1 settings, I have developed an acute sense of each of my students' learning styles, strengths and needs. Previously, I have tutored in math, social studies and study skills at the upper elementary level. Over the years I have worked with students between the ages of 2 to 21, addressing a wide range of educational and developmental needs. I am Highly Qualified to teach at the elementary level (K-6) and certified in K-12 general special education. My BA in English also permits me to work with older students in reading and written expression. I have taught special education for 5 years. I have worked with children in preschool through 6th grade with a variety of needs. I have experience teaching children how to read. I also have my masters in Literacy. I am a very hard worker and enjoy working with children. I have two bachelor degrees. One in Elementary/Special education and another in Sociology. I have a masters degree in Literacy. I have worked for tutoring agencies before with children after school. I have tutored children in math, reading, social studies, and writing.
I enjoy teaching and working with a variety of children, I believe that children learn in a variety of ways and teachers need to use many strategies when working with children. I am very patient and easy going. I feel that children need positive reinforcement. I hope to be making a difference in the lives of the children I work with.
