Whenever possible, I use highlighters, colored pencils, hands-on manipulatives, and other items to help students learn.
I have been teaching elementary students since 1995 in 1st and 4th grades. I have taught all subject areas, especially language arts and math. Grammar is one of my top subjects!

I allow students to discover answers by themselves by prompting them with questions. This hands off technique reflects the minimalist philosophy of the writing center I worked for, and I have found it is a far more effective way to help students grasp concepts which will globally make their writing better. Understanding the fundamentals of good writing is the most important tool to becoming a good writer; where merely diagnosing an issue and giving an answer for it leads to much more lazy writing in the future. That's what makes fundamental understanding so important, because it carries over into future assignments.

After I graduated as a Business Administration, I certified in Early Childhood – 4th Grade in Bilingual Education, here in Texas.
