My comments on tutoring Entrance Exams : Exams all come down to prep and organization!

I have always approached a teaching lesson as a learning opportunity. Learning is a fundamental skill. If you don't have your basic fundamentals, your student will have difficulty advancing. So, I always start with basic fundamentals such as; note taking, study skills, and comprehension! All sciences demand the ability to link concepts together. Ex. cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ systems,etc.....! By understanding the make-up of cellular structures and relating that to tissue functions the students can fully understand a subject. This proves true with all subjects. By impowering the student with good base fundamentals, my students find it easier to link concepts together.

When I begin tutoring a new student, my first objective is for us to get to know each other. The student will not be able to receive very much from me until he/she is comfortable with me. Once they feel that I care, they open up and the learning really begins! As a college athlete I always have been encouraged to help out the community. Because of my high level of math, I knew that I could really help others learn the material in a fun way. Math is something that has always been easy to me, and I have completed through calc 1,2,3 and Differential Equations. I scored in the top 96 percentile in arithmetic based math on my ADHD testing in 2006. I have been working as a private tutor from my home or student's home for 3 years. I have tutored elementary through college level students. I am able to teach a variety of subjects, however my forte is English and Composition. I have the honor of being a published author. I am an expert in MLA or APA style writing.
