Math, Science, Writing, and Critical Thinking

My favorite part about teaching is the moment of sudden understanding that you can see in a student's eyes when they've got it. The challenge, of course, is getting to that moment, especially in a subject like math or science. While certain subjects may come easier to some people than to others, I do not believe that anyone is "incapable" of understanding and excelling in any field of study. If understanding is lacking, that is only because the student needs to be presented the material in a way that makes sense to them.

My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I have taught Algebra 2 over 20 times on the high school level and am comfortable with the large range of topics this course can entail.

I am a laid back type of instructor and use my experience and intuition to create unique learning environments for each student. When I was in high school I had a lot of anxiety about math. I went back to college late in life and I was terrified that I would have to take a few math courses to graduate. It wasn't long before math was my favorite class and I changed my major. When I was in school I helped a lot of my classmates with calculus.
