My comments on tutoring Trigonometry : Math is one of my strongest and favorite subjects

My tutoring experience has begun in college, when I would assist with Japanese and math lessons between classes and the campus job. In tutoring, it is best to locate where the student is having trouble, and start at that point, since math builds on itself. I always begin by working 1 or 2 examples of a certain type of problem. Then, when the student is ready, let him/her work a similar problem. When the student has mastered that concept, we move on to the next type of problem.

I am very adaptive to students learning style. I usually spend the first ten minutes of our first meeting figuring out what the student is struggling with and how to best meet their needs. I try to teach students more how to think analytical more so then just solving problems because it is more beneficial to the student. I feel that if I can teach the student how to read theorems, understand concepts, then problems just become easy at that point.
