I believe in creating students who have learned how to learn. I understand that I am only a temporary fixture in the lives of most students. As an honor's student who tutored other student athletes I was driven to continue on and receive a Graduate level education. Although English came very easy to me so did Computers and programming so I chose to receive my Bachelor in Business Administration and a Master in Management Information Systems. My Master's Degree has given me the opportunity to teach at the college level, assist Fortune 500 Companies with the selection of Enterprise Solutions and training those employees on these solutions.

Teaching has been a motivation for me for all of my working life. I have experienced the joys of my student's successes at the high school level and then on to their university courses or in their own work experiences. It is important to explain and have students experience learning from a number of different angles. Each day involves reading, speaking, listening and writing in the target language. The more senses involved, the better a student can grasp a skill.
I have taught French and German in both public and private schools from grades 1 through the college level for over 30 years. My most recent experience was in a public high school, grades 9-12, where I taught for 25 years. I have a bachelors and a masters degree in French literature with a minor in German and am National Board Certified in French. I have also taught humanities and am certified in world civilizations.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is patient and creative. I seem to find unique ways and examples that the learner can understand to help describe how to solve problems. I’m not afraid to admit if I’m not confident of an answer to a question and will do all I can to figure out the solution that makes the best sense to the student. I’m flexible with regards to teaching for different learning styles because not everyone learns the same way. My tutoring can extend from grade school kids to college students.

A Little Bit About Me...

I feel that we all have the aptitude to learn, yet each individual discovers that aptitude in a different manner. My first and most important goal is always to convey this to the student in an effort to let them know I believe in their abilities. The thing that allows a student to most effectively reach his or her possibilities is confidence. The future of any nation lies with the quality of the education received by its students, and this education is only as useful as the extent to which its possessors can communicate.
