I have been providing tutoring and music lessons for 20 years. I studied French Horn on full scholarship at the University of Arizona. I have been playing music professionally (getting paid ;-) since I was 18. I play just about every wind instrument know to man. I have been working professionally in the health care field since 1996. I earned my bachelor's in Health Promotion in 2004 with a 4.0 GPA. I have been volunteering at my children's school for 7 years, coaching chess and soccer. I teach mathematical High School Placement Testing classes.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is Socratic in method. I have learned a large variety of techniques to help teach some of the most basic to the most advanced concepts to a large audience of students. I like to mold my teaching style to fit with each individual student. As a teacher of special-needs and emotionally handicapped children, I have learned techniques that make me a formidable teacher in any environment, so long as I am familiar with the material. I work hard for my students, and am not willing to have them do anything that I would not do myself.
I attended Northern Arizona University, whereupon I fell in love with sociology. I have a firm grasp of basic and advanced sociological concepts, specializing in historical analysis and research methods. I have always felt very comfortable working with children. I previously worked as an after school teacher at a private middle school and ended up having a great relationship with all the kids. I am easy going and patient and feel myself to be someone that can bring the most out of people.
I am a recent graduate of the University of Arizona with a BA in English and a minor in History. I am passionate about writing and creativity in general. Many years of taking upper level English classes have given me much confidence in my paper writing and editing ability.
