The style of teaching that works best for me is one of "continuous encouragement." I first find out what the students strengths and weaknesses are then focus on how to improve on them. It's slow and steady but seems to work.
After graduating from art school in 1983, I have worked for numerous screen print and souvenir companies in Colorado, Texas and New Mexico. As a substitute teacher, I try to engage the interest of all the students by greeting them by name initially as I welcome them to their classroom. Even though the topics ranged from sixth grade mathematics to fluid dynamics each teacher keyed their presentation on the reception of the students.
