A Little Bit About Me...

I am a firm believer that the science subjects are not as difficult as many students are afraid they are. In my past tutoring experiences I like to allow the student to explain to me in their terms their understanding of the subject. I then fill in the gaps or revise their understanding. I am very patient and easy going person. I love the sciences. Helping someone to understand and seeing the glint in their eyes when they finally get it is why I love tutoring.
I am a graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Biology with a concentration in microbiology. I also have minors in leadership and Chemistry. As a college graduate, I have been educated on a wide variety of topics which I achieved high academic excellence. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communication disorders and psychology. These subjects have allowed me to gain knowledge about the basic maths and sciences as well as about people. I have always enjoyed working with students and feel that my work and coursework experience has adequately prepared me for this position. As a recent graduate from UCLA,I have taken mathematics courses ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus, including Statistics. My first tutoring experience was in high school, assisting other students in Algebra. I have earned two bachelor degrees, a BS in Business Administration and a BS in Computer Science. After college I worked at an insurance company as an IT Training Advisor. My primary responsibility was to train new software developers on the technologies and best practices used at our company. I also worked at a Medical Device company as a Business Analyst. This position included developing training materials, and delivering training to end users of the software my group developed.
