My comments on tutoring Social Studies : It is vital to establish a strong foundation in Social StudiesThe study of history, civics, Geograpy, on an 1st- 8th grade level enables Students to graple with complex issues and ideas in Highschool and beyond.

I work best in one on one or small groups. I am capable with larger groups as well. My favorite approach is the Charlotte Mason approach. I have worked with a wide variety of Educational Philosophies/Methods and will draw from them when needed.
I have taught in a wide variety of educational settings. I gained my BA in History only after years of serious and devoted study, and I bring a respect for whatever subject I teach to the classroom. After gaining my teaching certification with my MS, I taught history and geography in Alabama. After my Latin American Studies MA. I taught Latin, Greek, and Spanish. My tutoring was for middle and high school students in these and other fields, and I am currently a tutor for the University of Arizona's SALT Center, a program which serves university students with learning disabilities. I would determine what the boys and girls already knew, or thought they knew, and what they would like to learn.
