I learn in the most unheard of ways, and every childs learning style is different from the other, but that is what makes learning so fun. I graduated with a 3.9 from Whitworth College in 1979. I taught a 1st/2nd grade class for three years. My teaching certificate is not current. I home schooled my 4 children- the oldest through 8th grade. My second son had a learning disability. I spent many hours researching the best methods of teaching him to read. He made the deans list his first quarter in college! I recently taught adults how to do enumeration for the 2010 Census Bureau. I lead a club for middle school students. I am responsible for planning and implementing activities and teaching, and supervising youth leaders. I can teach/tutor any subject except a foreign language or music. Part of my previous job entailed "independent work" from the students for about 2 1/2 hours each day. During this time I would work one on one with each student. In June of 2009, I attained my Master of Science degree in exercise science from Central Washington University. Throughout my collegiate career, I have had many opportunities to use varying levels of math and science skills. In addition, for my Master's degree, I was required to write and publish a thesis and therefore, have experience using proper grammatical skills. I am extremely passionate about learning and would like very much to pass my enthusiasm on to others. This is why I do plan to return to graduate school to pursue a PhD in education.
