Experience Summary
I have a BS in psychology with a minor in biology and a MS in counseling psychology. I have worked in schools as a paraeducator and as a substitute teacher, with one year as a 7th grade biology teacher in a parochial school in Texas. I have worked as an editor and proofreader which, along with my advanced coursework, have given me an excellent of English grammatical skills. I am able to tutor mathematics up to and including algebra and geometry, reading, psychology, the arts, and elementary sciences.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching and helping others discover their interests. I believe everyone has the capacity to learn with the proper environment and assistance. I try to teach to an individual’s strengths, using the methods that are best suited to each student. Whenever possible, I make learning fun, to encourage continued interest and to reach the student’s full potential. I encourage students to develop good learning skills to carry them through their academic career and life.
