Experience Summary
I graduated with a 3.9 from Whitworth College in 1979. I taught a 1st/2nd grade class for three years. My teaching certificate is not current.
I home schooled my 4 children- the oldest through 8th grade. My second son had a learning disability. I spent many hours researching the best methods of teaching him to read. He made the deans list his first quarter in college!
I recently taught adults how to do enumeration for the 2010 Census Bureau. I lead a club for middle school students. I am responsible for planning and implementing activities and teaching, and supervising youth leaders.
I can teach/tutor any subject except a foreign language or music. I especially enjoy working with students in math and reading.

Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with all ages. I believe that every student can achieve their full potential if given the needed encouragement, skills, and time. I teach with patience, gentle prodding and creativity. I try to understand a students learning style, as well as difficulties, and then find the best methods to help them achieve their academic goals.
