I am a recent graduate of the University of Arizona with a BA in English and a minor in History. I am passionate about writing and creativity in general. Many years of taking upper level English classes have given me much confidence in my paper writing and editing ability. In addition to all of this, I love to write creatively (especially poetry) in my free time. I have always felt very comfortable working with children. I previously worked as an after school teacher at a private middle school and ended up having a great relationship with all the kids. Every student has different aptitudes and learning issues. Some get distracted easily and there may be others who works hard but get frustrated and anxious often. Patience is the most important attribute that may describe my development as an educator. I may be very creative when exposing simple examples that will help to intensify the student's ability to understand the main math principles before trying to teach any complex information which they wouldn't pick up without a more proper experience and practice in math. I have knowledge in science and engineering since I studied four years of environmental engineering in Mexico at the "UNIVERSIDAD JUAREZ AUTONOMA DE TABASCO" in Villahermosa Tabasco.I did so much scholar research from books and articles in English when I was attending college. I'm able to understand technical, mathematical and scientific terms in both English and Spanish.

As a student, I had the chance to participate in the Americorps program, where I developed and implemented programs for at-risk youth. My programs encompassed but were not limited to, ecology, animal husbandry, writing, reading, and the arts. Since then I have earned two bachelor's degrees, a BA in Education, and a BA in Elementary Education, with minors in communications and liberal arts. Teaching comes naturally to me; I believe that everyone has the potential to be successful, given the right opportunity. Persistence, mutual admiration, and effort are the qualities that I bring with me, and they are all that I ask of the students that I work with. My goal is to make learning less of a duty and more of a stimulating quest, so that I may leave my students with the inspiration to continue learning throughout their lives.

I love working with children and helping them find new and creative ways to learn. I am patient, easy going, and creative. When I tutored privately, my students enjoyed working with me and I always tried to make our sessions pleasurable and even fun! My students can always call me at home for extra help and I am available most evenings and even weekends. I truly enjoy helping students learn and achieve to their highest potential. I have spent 30 years in the educational field providing both guidance and counseling as well as tutoring to children ages five through fourteen. I thoroughly enjoyed being a counselor to children. I also found that tutoring students was equally rewarding. I mostly tutored language arts and reading as I consider grammar a strong point of mine.
