Not only do I love to teach and help students learn, I also enjoy helping students develop an appreciation for learning in general. The most gratifying experience while teaching is the look on a student's face, after hours of confusion, after they reach an understanding of the concept. The environment that I believe works the best is one that allows the student to have fun while learning; which creates a more positive environment for future learning. My teaching style is based on student needs and abilities. I feel that every child is capable of learning and enjoying music as well as any other subject. A students progress is determined by their learning rate based upon their maturity level. Students learn at levels and must master one level before attempting a higher level. Therefore, as a teacher I try to provide instruction that meets a students needs and instruction that progresses according to a students mastery of necessary skills.
After receiving a Bachelor of Music in Education degree from Youngstown University, Youngstown, Ohio I was employed by the Crestwood Schools, Mantua, Ohio to teach instrumental music.
