I have been teaching organic chemistry for undergraduate students for more than five years and I am pursuing my PhD in organic chemistry. I have been teaching chemistry for more than 10 years. Mathematically, I teach from a logical, or procedural approach. As students work their way up to Calculus and further, it is important to understand the process of problem-solving and not focus on the numbers alone. Many sciences can become abstract, I like to relate topics to things students may encounter everyday or already understand in order to get a foundation before complicating topics with smaller detail. I am very positive and try to push students as fast as they absorb the information. I feel it is hard to enjoy a subject if you do not understand it or see how it effects you. I have recently graduated from the University of Delaware and intend to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry within the next few years.
