Experience Summary
I graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia. I received dual Bachelors' of Science in Computer and Electrical Engineering. These have a advanced my understanding of physics, mathematics, and other sciences. In addition to lecture, I have completed several laboratory classes and attended seminars that bring formulas and concepts into a real world purpose. During my time in Missouri, I joined the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). NSBE held weekly tutoring sessions for afterschool programs with kids in grades 5-12.
Teaching Style
Mathematically, I teach from a logical, or procedural approach. As students work their way up to Calculus and further, it is important to understand the process of problem-solving and not focus on the numbers alone. Many sciences can become abstract, I like to relate topics to things students may encounter everyday or already understand in order to get a foundation before complicating topics with smaller detail.
I am very positive and try to push students as fast as they absorb the information. I feel it is hard to enjoy a subject if you do not understand it or see how it effects you. For this reason, I try to bring real-world uses for topics and bring these subject to life.
