Although I am advanced as far as the subject areas I would be tutoring in are concerned, I am still able to present the content to the student in the unique way that they are able to understand it. This is important, since no two students think alike and, in my experience, a majority of students do have trouble with math and math-intensive sciences such as physics. After graduating with a 4.0 from the University of Oklahoma, I began my graduate work in mathematics. As a G.A., I had the experience of teaching and tutoring at the college level. During the past two years, I have taught 10 sections of miscellaneous classes, covering 5 different courses. Over the course of the past two years, I've easily had over a hundred hours of tutoring time. I have been an aerospace engineer for Boeing for three years. I love to learn math, and at the same time, it's a pleasure for me to teach math to others. When studying at MIT, I spent a year tutoring calculus, SAT II math, and logic. The tutoring felt easy and satisfying. I loved it.
I am a very patient tutor because I believe everyone can start as a blank slate and become a math expert. I feel that the foundational blocks of math often are not communicated well to students. I have a knack for seeing holes in their understanding and patching up the holes. My teaching style involves conveying the foundation and showing how it connects to the higher level math subjects, which sometimes can be difficult to understand.
