Although I am advanced as far as the subject areas I would be tutoring in are concerned, I am still able to present the content to the student in the unique way that they are able to understand it. This is important, since no two students think alike and, in my experience, a majority of students do have trouble with math and math-intensive sciences such as physics. I have tutored non-professionally for some time. Doing so has provided me with experience with a variety of students ranging from the first grade level to college freshman. I cater accordingly to each level of student, always exercising patience and approaching topics from multiple angles. I understand that some students are visual, kinesthetic, or auditory learners, or a combination of all three. Teaching is a means to find a student's misconceptions and correct them. I try to do this by engaging the students in conversation, asking them leading questions, or watching them work. I try to build classroom bonds, making communication easier. Once the students feel comfortable, it is easier to get them to talk and share their actual thoughts and ideas (which might be brilliant or flawed).

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been an aerospace engineer for Boeing for three years. I love to learn math, and at the same time, it's a pleasure for me to teach math to others. When studying at MIT, I spent a year tutoring calculus, SAT II math, and logic. The tutoring felt easy and satisfying. I loved it.
I am a very patient tutor because I believe everyone can start as a blank slate and become a math expert. I feel that the foundational blocks of math often are not communicated well to students. I have a knack for seeing holes in their understanding and patching up the holes. My teaching style involves conveying the foundation and showing how it connects to the higher level math subjects, which sometimes can be difficult to understand.
