My teaching style varies depending on the student. Once I meet with the student and assess how he/she learns best, I tailor my teaching style to best meet his/her needs. Each student learns differently, and as a private tutor, I am able to meet his/her specific needs.
I am a certified teacher in the state of Texas and have taught a variety of elementary grades over the past six years. Prior to this, I was a tutor for elementary students for five years. Teaching is a passion of mine, as I strive to bring learning to life. Elementary Reading is one of my top subjects! I have been a teacher for 27 years and have a masters degree in reading. I am a reading specialist and currently provide remediation for grades 2-4 at an elementary campus.

My style is varied depending on the needs of the student, however, I mostly use tactile/kinesthetic styles with the use of visuals and manipulatives.
I taught third grade for 15 years in Galena Park ISD. I became a content mastery teacher for 2 years. I then taught art for 2 years. I received my masters in reading and became a reading specialst. I have been a reading specialist now for 8 years and I am currently employed by Schertz Cibolo University City ISD.

My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : I am a classroom certified teacher and also been tutoring in this area for over 5 years.

I have over ten years of teaching. I have taught ELA,Reading comp, math, science at all levels. I have taught in public schools, private schools, charter schools and at post-secondary institutions. I have been a tutor since 2003 where I worked with Sylvan Learning Center before starting my own education consulting service.
I try to narrow down my students's areas of strength and focus on areas that need more practice. My approach is open but effective.
