A Little Bit About Me...

The early years of my experience were in the junior high setting. I taught sixth through ninth grade during this time, drawing heavily on my background strengths in theater, literature, grammar, creative writing, and my years as a legal secretary. I developed curriculum for the English department and was instrumental in launching an exploratory study system for alternative, creative learning. For the last twelve years, I have taught basic writing for the Salt Lake Community College and the University of Phoenix. I have also served the Education Departments at the University of Phoenix and Utah State University as a Supervisor to student teachers in grades 1-12.

As a graduate with my BA in English I have developed by ability to discuss and discover new solutions and alternative ideas. This has also inhanced my skills in communication, both oral and written. Over the past year I have also done substitute teaching at a local charter school. This experience has furtherd my desire to interact and contribute to our youth.
