While at the University of Tulsa I have tutored in both math and chemistry, so I have experience with those subjects in particular. Though I received a bachelors in Psychology I was also pre-med, so I was required to take several heavy science courses as well. As such I am also proficient in several biological subjects.
Generally I will try to ask questions to see which specific points a student needs assistance with and make sure they understand the material on a fundamental level. I also believe that practice and hands-on experiences teach the most, so there tends to be an emphasis on working through problems step-by-step than lecturing. Ultimately I am flexible, and can change my style and routine to accommodate the students' needs.

I interpreted for 6-8th graders at Hoover middle school for two years. I have interpreted at church now for the last 4 years. I have tutored one ASL student during their second semester at OSU. I tutored the middle school kids in math, art, english and science. I interact with many deaf friends frequently.
Formal training has taught me that the more you converse using the language and not using your voice the more you retain and learn the language. I like to focus on one specfic aspect per session be it finger spelling or vocabulary or idioms, ETC. If the student has a test coming up we can chnage it up to focus on the topics of that test. But over all i think learning a language should be fun and relaxed.
