Solve ALL your problems with a math tutor!

While completing my degree, I worked in the math department as a tutor. I often had several students with various subjects simultaneously. It was a challenge to constantly switch topics, but I apparently did it so well that I almost had a regular class that showed up every time I was on duty. Several students told me that I explained things on a level they could understand as opposed to the high-level language the professor used. I have also done private tutoring since then.
I generally work through an example while explaining. Then as the student works the problems, I instruct by asking prompting questions with decreasing frequency until the student can complete problems without any assistance.

Passionate Elementary Education Tutor

My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : Excel is Microsoft's amazing spreadsheet program. There is so much you can do with it! It's fun, useful, and amazing!

I am an experienced graphic and web designer. But in college I thought I was going to be either an English or History Professor, or an Attorney. That's why I studied lots of his History, English, and took the pre-law major Philosophy. I have several year of post-graduate classes as well. I started teaching Graphic Design in 2002, and brought into that Web Design, along with the skills that accompany them - HTML and CSS. I have even designed signs, and love it!
I try to do some explication, and then have the student try some exercises or venture out on their own. In the cases of multiple sessions, I DO assign homefun (as opposed to homework), so that the student will have some experience when next we meet.

Maths is fun!

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the true way to teach is to make a connection for each student: relate the material to something the student already knows. A more “hands-on” approach will allow the student to learn faster with greater retention. I feel that every student has the ability to learn, and that it is the teacher’s job to provide each student with the connection. I have always had a passion for learning, and helping others learn. In middle school, High School and College, other students came to me for help with assignments.
