I love teaching and I love to see the spark in a child's eye when they finally understand a subject they have struggled with! I am a certified special education instructional support aide for an elementary school in northwest Fort Worth. During the school year, I work in Resource and Content Mastery with special education students that are in general education classes but need additional instruction in Reading, Math, and Language Arts. I also provide additional assistance through Content Mastery to students in Science and Social Studies. I am currently pursuing a second Master's degree in Education with a specialization in Special Education as well as pursuing teacher certification through Texas Teachers. Excel is Microsoft's amazing spreadsheet program. There is so much you can do with it! It's fun, useful, and amazing! I am an experienced graphic and web designer. But in college I thought I was going to be either an English or History Professor, or an Attorney. That's why I studied lots of his History, English, and took the pre-law major Philosophy. I have several year of post-graduate classes as well. I started teaching Graphic Design in 2002, and brought into that Web Design, along with the skills that accompany them - HTML and CSS. I have even designed signs, and love it! I try to do some explication, and then have the student try some exercises or venture out on their own. In the cases of multiple sessions, I DO assign homefun (as opposed to homework), so that the student will have some experience when next we meet.

I generally work through an example while explaining. Then as the student works the problems, I instruct by asking prompting questions with decreasing frequency until the student can complete problems without any assistance. While completing my degree, I worked in the math department as a tutor. I often had several students with various subjects simultaneously. It was a challenge to constantly switch topics, but I apparently did it so well that I almost had a regular class that showed up every time I was on duty. Several students told me that I explained things on a level they could understand as opposed to the high-level language the professor used. I have also done private tutoring since then.
