A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with and teaching children of all ages. I believe that each child is unique and is capable of learning in his or her own unique way. As a teacher I do my best to discover how each child learns, and tailor my lessons to fit them so that the student gets the maximum amount of learning out of the lesson. I believe that with perserverence and a little bit of self esteem, any child can be successful.
I recently graduated the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS in elementary education. I student taught at Morehead Elementary school in kindergarten with Jeanelle Lindsay. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that children must be engaged in the subject matter before successful learning takes place. Finding fun, interesting, and personal ways for the child to connect to the topic will truly allow them a chance to learn and retain information. I love finding different ways for individual learners to understand what they are being taught.
I am a senior in the Education program at Appalachian State University. As an Elementary Education major, I have worked closely with children from many age levels. I have participated in an after-school tutor/mentor program at Appalachian State in 2008. In 2009, I completed two internships while in the Education Program. One working with 2nd grade students and the other with 5th grade students. I have also taken many courses to understand context and teaching strategies in all subject areas.
