I recently graduated the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS in elementary education. I student taught at Morehead Elementary school in kindergarten with Jeanelle Lindsay. During this time I also tutored third graders at Morehead. I have held several tutoring positions in both high school and college, and find great joy in working with children one on one. I have tutored elementary age, and some high school age students in math, science, reading/ english as well as history. I love working with and teaching children of all ages. I believe that each child is unique and is capable of learning in his or her own unique way. I myself am a visual and auditory learner, so I am very open to all types of teaching styles. I find that people learn better when several avenues of learning are available for a subject. I really enjoy being around kids and helping them learn new things. When you teach a kid something and they finally get it, the sight of their face lighting up is priceless. I believe that one should teach using a variety of methods because all kids do not learn the same way and each individual method shows something new each time.
