A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with students and enjoy seeing them be successful. I understand that all minds process information differently and enjoy incorporating a variety of teaching tools and techniques in my lessons in order to reach all students. I am not afraid to use technology and hands-on learning in order to get a point across and help a student better understand the objective of a lesson. Working individually with a student to get a grasp of their thought process helps me to coordinate my lessons to fit their individual learning style.
Over the past four years I have taught a variety of science courses, including biology, AP biology, chemistry, AP chemistry, advanced science middle school elective and a biology methods course at Eastern Michigan University. I taught for 32.5 years at Northwest Community Schools. Subjects taught Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade, Sixth Grade all subjects. Seventh Grade and Eighth Grade Science and Social Studies. Middle School Phys. Ed. 20 years Adult Ecucation. Subjects taught, American Government, U. S. History, Health Issues. I currently hold a Continuing Certificate from Mich. granted in 1978, and a Professional Certificate from Florida. I retired from Michigan Public Schools in 2006 with a pension, which includes health insurance. I then relocated in Phoenix, Arizona where I taught Fourth Grade for two years. I then moved back to Michigan where I was a substitute teacher last year. In August of this year my son and I permantly relocated to Florida.
