A Little Bit About Me...

I am very enthusiastic about science and I believe every student is capable of learning if given proper environment. Each student is different and they have different learning styles. My goal is to make my students confident and I put 100% effort to make them successful.
I love science and specially chemistry. I did my undergraduate with Honors in Chemistry and then went to graduate school and got my PhD in Chemistry (organic). Later on I moved into Biochemistry as a post doctoral fellow and continued as a Researcher in my professional life (non-teaching). I try my best to make the student figure things out on their own, by giving simple guiding questions or comments. I do not like to simply do the problems for them, as I find most people do not learn well this way. I am patient and empathetic, and I understand what it is like to approach a problem from the position of a student who is confused or unsure. I try to give them the tools to understand basic problem solving and critical thinking.
I went to school at EMU with the intention of getting a doctorate in Physics, to teach at the college level. I ended up getting a job in IT at the University, and found I enjoy this just as much. While a student, I volunteer tutored for the Society of Physics Students, and I tutor all the student employees I have when they are taking physics classes. I love teaching, and the students that I have tutored have excelled under my supervision.
