I bring a lot of energy to the classroom and ensure that I am over-prepared for each lesson. I enjoy involving every student in a classroom setting and encourage an active, open learning environment. I also believe it is a very valuable experience to be able to work with students one-on-one. I like to work with each student to figure out his or her individual learning style and needs. Though it may not be applicable for this position, I try to plan group activities when possible, so that students can learn from one another and help each other work through problems.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a college graduate I was motivated to find a job and begin my career. I have decided that after three and a half years of hard work through school and a gratifying 3 years of labratory experience (including 6 months of post-graduate full time work) that I am not ready for a career in chemistry. I have decided to slow the pace down and enjoy life for a while. I have lived in Aspen since December and worked for the SkiCo for that time. I would love to enjoy the summertime out here and to enhance your child's understanding of chemistry or other scientific areas. I have tutored my friends and family in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics.

Helping and watching children learn is inherently rewarding. While skills and content must be mastered, methods can and should be tailored to the individual student. Each child has her/his own style of cognitive processing and problem solving. Attention to the learner's style is critical to the successful acquisition of skills and concepts. I strive to make learning fun. Also, I have been trained in assorted mnemonic (memory) strategies. Most importantly, I believe self esteem is an essential factor in educational growth.
