I love to be hands-on in my tutoring. I feel that problem solving is the key to understanding a topic. If you can work through a question and understand the steps involved, then the knowledge of the subject is definate. I would love to help your child obtain a high degree of success in their studies. I have obtained very high marks in my college career and hope that the passion for science that I possess can be felt and passed on to your child.

A Little Bit About Me...

I bring a lot of energy to the classroom and ensure that I am over-prepared for each lesson. I enjoy involving every student in a classroom setting and encourage an active, open learning environment. I also believe it is a very valuable experience to be able to work with students one-on-one. I like to work with each student to figure out his or her individual learning style and needs. Though it may not be applicable for this position, I try to plan group activities when possible, so that students can learn from one another and help each other work through problems.

Helping and watching children learn is inherently rewarding. While skills and content must be mastered, methods can and should be tailored to the individual student. Each child has her/his own style of cognitive processing and problem solving. Attention to the learner's style is critical to the successful acquisition of skills and concepts. I strive to make learning fun. Also, I have been trained in assorted mnemonic (memory) strategies. Most importantly, I believe self esteem is an essential factor in educational growth.
