I will be honest with you. I have never tutored a child before at a professional standpoint. I will say I have always gotten along with children, and have an ability to help them learn, while making it fun as well. I am 24 years old, an only child, and no children of my own. But through the years all of my close friends were having children at a young age!! When my friends would visit the kids followed along! Simple things like reading a book with them. It is so exciting to know in your heart that your helping a child learn words! And communication and written words are so important in the walk of life!I develop a bond with every child I meet! :) My boyfriend has 4 wonderful children! Confidence creates an interest in learning

Substitute Teaching from 03/15/2011 to present Chess Instructor from 12/17/2003 to 04/30/2004 Tutor for Western Michigan University 09/15/1997-04/30/2000. I have taught students ranging fro pre-school to 12th grade and also tutored at the unversity level. I feel most confident with students ranging from 3rd to 6th grade and at the college level or older. My main strengths are an ability to adapt to students with special needs and recognize that a lack of interest or focus is often the result of a lack of confidence.
