Experience Summary
Substitute Teaching from 03/15/2011 to present
Chess Instructor from 12/17/2003 to 04/30/2004
Tutor for Western Michigan University 09/15/1997-04/30/2000.
I have taught students ranging fro pre-school to 12th grade and also tutored at the unversity level. I feel most confident with students ranging from 3rd to 6th grade and at the college level or older. My main strengths are an ability to adapt to students with special needs and recognize that a lack of interest or focus is often the result of a lack of confidence. The best subjects for me are social studies, elementary math and writing for all ages. Both my degrees are in history with anthropology and geography being my minors in college. I have also taught chess on the elementary level for Farmington Hills Public Schools and consider myself extremely qualified to tutor on this level as well. Overall, the History Field requires a lot of writing and research ability and I can definately help someone in these areas.
