I am a senior studying Animal and Poultry Sciences at Virginia Tech. I have always had a personal passion for education and have enjoyed spreading the joys of learning and understanding to my peers, siblings, and friends. I excel in the subject areas of Math and Science, however have extensive writing skills. The greatest reward one can achieve is to see the smile on someones face when they have found success in understanding something they felt impossible. I feel that there is no single method to learning, instead it is each individuals character that defines their own learning methods. After 6 years of successful and rewarding experiences in secondary education, I decided to return to college and obtain a Masters Degree in Education. Upon receiving my Masters in 1984, I taught at the post secondary level in both Virginia and North Carolina. At the post secondary level, I had the opportunity to teach a wide variety of subjects from Math to Business Administration. I have taught both children and adults in the various positions I have held through my life (camps, schools, employers and church).
