A Little Bit About Me...

I prefer to teach in a classroom environment with a structure and learning standards. I can also teach in a one on one tutoring session. It is helpful to have good teaching materials and resources available. I like to have the opportunity to prepare lessons and have the ability to write lesson plans and prepare lessons. I have a proven ability to follow through with those lesson plans. I prefer to have the appropriate support for the teaching environment and at times I have been known to refuse to teach unless I have been given the opportunity to prepare for the teaching event in advance. Having moved between English, History, and Anthropology during my undergraduate years, I've surveyed quite an extensive portion of the social sciences. I have earned a major in Anthropology and a minor in History. The workloads for these courses included several 50+ page ethnographic reports in addition to the basic course curriculum. During my sophomore year in college, I tutored a 10th grader in geometry for two semesters. I also tutored him and one of his peers for one semester in Algebra II. I then got a job as a laboratory teaching assistant. I taught laboratories for non-biology majors for 2 years, which gave me the ability to explain the subject matter in a concise way that the students could understand.
